In Kenya the 500-square-mile plains of the Maasai Mara’s are home to the Big Five – buffaloes, rhinos, elephants, lions and leopards – often the animals of choice when wanting to tick a safari off a bucket list, however other safari options have different appeals. Our specific “Big Five” safaris are ideal for a first-time safari, or if you have limited time.
Taking a safari in Tanzania, youcan witness the Great Migration in the Serengeti, see herds of wildebeest cross the Mara River, or track the Big Five on a game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater. You can also visit Zanzibar’s beautiful sandy beaches to soak in the sunshine.
Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe is also a good place to spot the Big Five, plus here you can extend your stay to visit to Victoria Falls, the world’s largest waterfall.

South Africa is an amazing choice for a family safari holiday with the Garden Route offering self-drive adventures, and maybe combine a trip with Sun City family holiday resort. For Big Five viewing you should consider Kruger’s private reserves, and also from July to November you can take in whale watching from the town of Hermanua, known as the best land-based whale-watching destination in the world!

Fine white sands, beachfront bars, and swimming in the clear waters of the Red Sea, perhaps going snorkelling or scuba diving to see the coral reefs and beautiful sealife. We have options in Hurghada, Marsa Alam, and Sharm El Sheikh.
Found off the western coast of Africa, Cape Verde is made up of 10 islands, and with sunny weather throughout the year you’ve plenty of choice of when to visit. It’s a great off-the-beaten track destination, with long sandy beaches (try the 55km sandy coastline of Boa Vista!), great surfing spots, and modern hotels.
An island nation in the Indian Ocean, Mauritius is known for its stunning beaches, lagoons, reefs at the coast, along with rainforests, waterfalls, wildlife, and hiking trails in the interior. You’re best to visit between September and December.
For a truly relaxing holiday why not vist the Seychelles, an archipelago of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean, home to gorgeous beaches, coral reefs and nature reserves. If you’re a little more adventurous, you can head to the crystal clear waters for snorkelling, kayaking and island-hopping, although the Creole food and dreamy beaches may be too tempting!
